Thinking of Retirement? Attend a Pre-Retirement Seminar

Now is a great time to get a head start on your retirement planning by attending a PSRS Pre-Retirement Planning Seminar.

We strongly recommend that you start attending Pre-Retirement Planning Seminars at least five years prior to your projected retirement. You are welcome to attend every year, but make sure you also attend in the year in which you intend to retire.

Members who attend a seminar have a better understanding of how the system works and are more confident in the decision making process.

At the seminar, you will receive an estimate of monthly benefits based on your projected retirement date. The estimate is reviewed in detail to provide a good understanding of your options. Other topics addressed include: the Partial Lump Sum Option (PLSO); buying credit; financial protection for your family in the event of your death; cost-of-living adjustments and working after retirement.

Registration is required and is easy to complete. Register early! Fall seminars start in late September. Seating for each seminar is limited, and we cannot accept late registrations.

Registration for fall seminars is now open. You can register online or by calling PEERS. You will need an idea of your retirement date, along with your beneficiary’s name and birth date. We look forward to seeing you at a seminar!
