PSRS Purchase Information Request

Must have previous PSRS-covered employment that has been forfeited by withdrawal or refund. |
|
|
Must have acquired credit for services covered by PEERS and have forfeited the service by withdrawal or refund. A portion of the calculated cost will be offset by employer matching funds.
|

|
Must be within 5 years of retirement eligibility to qualify. This is typically obtained by 20 years of credit or by reaching age 50. Supplemental credit cannot be used to vest your membership. |

|
Must have 5.0 years with PSRS. A detailed earnings statement will be required from the Social Security Administration. Employment must have been at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis while age 18 or older. |
|
|
Must have been employed at least 20 hours per week in a non-PSRS/PEERS covered public school district, public junior college, public community college, or public college inside or outside of Missouri.
|
|
|
Must have served at least 20 hours per week in a private school, private junior college, private community college, or private college inside or outside of Missouri.
|
|
|
Must have taken unpaid leave from PSRS-covered employment for maternity purposes. If the unpaid leave occurred within the current school year or previous two school years, it may be more cost efficient to purchase the unpaid leave under the “Unpaid Sick Leave and Workers Compensation” Statute. |

|
Must have active duty service in the Armed forces of the United States of America and were discharged or separated from the Armed forces by other than dishonorable discharge.
|
|
|
Must be reemployed after December 11, 1994, in accordance with USERRA regulations by the same employer by which you left and you elect within 5 years to purchase the credit. |
|
|
Must have been or currently are certified as a vocational-technical teacher on the basis
of having a college degree or you were required to have a period of work experience of at least two years in the area of the subject being taught in order to qualify for the certification.

Must have been employed at least 17 but less than 20 hours per week on a regular basis during the
period of August 28, 1991 through August 27, 2003.
You must have held a valid Missouri teaching certificate during this time. |

Must have earned creditable service
in another public retirement system established by the State of Missouri. |

|
Must have been employed for at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis for a non-federal public employer inside or outside the State of Missouri.
